This decision was not taken lightly and is basically down to the fact that there are a lot of good eCommerce applications on the market and to take D2 StoreFront to the next level and keep it a viable product would have taken more time and resource than I have available. I made the mistake early on of adding too much to the free version meaning 99% of people used that, leading to the app costing more to host over the years than it actually made! I hope therefore that you’ll appreciate why I took the decision to call it a day. My heart isn’t in it any more and to produce the major update that I wanted to do would have taken 100% commitment.

A BIG thanks though to those of you who bought D2 StoreFront over the years and allowed me to develop it for so long (it was around since .NET 1.0 was in nappies!). I’ve been in touch with some very nice people over the years whilst working with the app.

I’ve got the bones of its replacement sat in my source control repository so who knows, one day…….. I’ll update this blog if anything changes in the future.
